Back to the Future – Stillwater’s California Strategic Fuel Reserve Study
A little over 20 years ago, Stillwater did a study for the California Energy Commission to examine the feasibility of a California strategic fuel reserve and its possible impact on fuel prices. After the latest round of California gasoline price spikes in 2022, which were caused in part by supply constraints, the idea of a strategic fuel reserve to offset supply shocks is being kicked around again. You can access the 2002 study here. Please contact us if you’re interested in learning more about how a California strategic fuel reserve might relieve supply shocks and price spikes.
