Hugo is a veteran of the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable fuels industry, bringing over 17 years of experience in product strategy and leadership. He specializes in bridging the gap between complex research and development (R&D), regulation and scalable commercial products, with a career-long focus on driving the global green transition through strategic governance and business model innovation.

As the former Head of Product Management at Neste, Hugo led a global portfolio of SAF and renewable energy digital services. During his tenure, he expertly navigated the high-stakes regulatory landscapes in the EU, U.S., and UK while simultaneously pioneering solutions for the voluntary SAF and SAF credit markets. His deep cross-industry background also includes leadership roles in financial, retail, and travel technology (notably with BCD Travel and AirHelp), providing him with a unique, multi-dimensional perspective on how decarbonization impacts global supply chains.

In addition to his role at Stillwater, Hugo is the Managing Director of SAF Planet, a specialized platform and intermediary dedicated to navigating the complexities of the voluntary SAF market. Under his leadership, SAF Planet acts as a critical bridge between fuel producers, airlines, and corporate buyers. By leveraging deep market insight and a rigorous adherence to SAF accounting standards, Hugo and his team provide the tailored, credible solutions organizations need to reach their specific emission reduction and SAF use targets.
